Mattie has this amazing way of getting people to stop, slow down, and smile. I’ve seen it countless times, and while it’s always caught my attention, it didn’t truly hit me until this past year. Mattie—and others like him—are gifted with incredible people skills. He has this natural ability to connect with just about anyone, with no pretense or judgment.

Mattie connects with people straight from the heart. And it’s honestly a beautiful thing to see.

That’s where the idea for A Special Host came from.
